Pay Types

From the payroll screen click on Setup to view the drop down menu at the top of the screen. 

Then click on pay types.  There are 12 standard pay types already setup.  NOTE: Do not change these.

1.   Regular Pay

2.   Sick Pay

3.   Holiday Pay

4.   Vacation Pay

5.   Tips – Cash …..  these tips are added to the check and then subtracted after the taxes are calculated.

6.   Tips – Charge … these tips are just added to the check and taxed.

7.   Tips – Allocated … these tips are for reporting tips that are estimated from sales.

8.   Fringe Benefits (+) … for benefits that are added to taxable wages

9.   Fringe Benefits (+ and -) … for benefits that are added and taxed then subtracted from the net check.

10.  Dependent Care

11.  Commissions

12.  Agricultural

 

If you do not need any additional pay types click Cancel and go to Pre Tax Transactions. If you need additional pay types click the add button.

 

The ID Number will automatically display.

Description  is the pay type title.  e.g.  Bonus

Accrue Vacation and Sick Time  Check this box if this type of pay is to be included in accrued vacation or sick pay.

Subject To  The pay type is subject to all checked taxes.  Uncheck any taxes that do not apply to the pay type.
